Morelia, known for its perfectly conserved and still functional 16th and 17th century architecture, also has a vibrant cultural life. Take some time to explore the city’s seductive streets and diverse architectonic jewels built alongside them.

Unquestionably the starting point must be Plaza Benito Juárez where the majestic, pink stone cathedral built from 1660 to 1744 can be fully appreciated.
The cathedral, which is gloriously illuminated at night, keeps treasures such as its 4,600 pipe organ, one of the finest in the world. On the weekends there is a light and sound show that enhances the beauty of the plaza.
From the cathedral, continue toward the Templo de la Merced, built in 1604 by the Orden de los Mercedarios. Once you have visited this baroque building, walk to the Museo de Artesanias where products from all around the state are exhibited and sold at accessible prices.
In case your hotel doesn´t offer this service, try using the following Internet cafes: Centro Interactivo de Comunicación, Melchor Ocampo #215 and Chat Room Cybercafe, El Nigromante 132-A.
You can find the following drug stores in the downtown area: Farmacias Guadalajara, Morelos Sur #117 just across the Cathedral and Gems III, Ana Ma. Gallaga No. 911-A.
