Barbet Schroeder

This prolific filmmaker has had an impressive career notonlyas a director, but also as a producer, writer, and actor. His works as a producer include Fool Proof, Shattered Image with Greta Schachi, Desperate Measures with Gene Hackman, Before and After, Never Talk to Strangers, Kiss of Death, Single White Female with Bridget Fonda, and Barfly with Mickey Rourke. As an actor, Schroeder has participated in such productions as Cinématon, Tim Burton´s Mars Attaacks!, Beverly Hills Cop III, and La Reine Margot with Isabelle Adjani. As a screenwriter, Schroeder is credited with the movies: Tricheurs, Maîtresse, and More.
Werner Herzog

Werner Herzog

Born in Munich in 1942, Werner Herzog established his own production company in 1963 and first attracted in 1968 with his first feature Signs of Life. Since then he has produced, written, and directed more than forty films, Published more than a dozen books of prose, and directed as many operas. One of the most influential filmmakers in the New German Cinema movement, Herzog has written and directed provocative, highly personal films. He is also widely admired as a superb documentary filmmaker; during the nineties, in fact, much of his work centered around documentaries.
Fernando Vallejo

Fernando Vallejo

Fernando Vallejo, a writer and filmmaker from Antioch, Colombia, was born in 1942. He lived in Medellin before traveling to Europe, where he studied film at Cinecittà. Six volumes of his autobiographical work El río del tiempo have thus far been published. The last of these, Entre fantasmas, spans the years of his residency in Mexico City (since 1971). In 1994 he published the novel La Virgen de los Sicarios, about the violence of the drug trade in Medellin, and later wrote the screenplay for the film version directed by Barbet Schroeder. His literary work places him among the most celebrated authors of contemporary Colombian narrative. As a filmmeker, he has written and directed two films in Mexico about violence in Colombia: Crónica roja (1978) and En la tormenta (1980). El Fondo de Cultura Económica published Vallejo´s first book, Logoi. He was recently awarded the prestigious Rómulo Gallegos Prize.
