Andrea Stavenhagen, responsible for this initiative, and Daniela Michel, founder and director of the FICM, presented the program and thanked their sponsors for their support in helping make Impulso Morelia possible.Impulso Morelia was created in 2015 to help Mexican feature films in their post-production stage. Since then, it has helped filmmakers in their cinematographic work and has promoted the international projection of talent in the country.“This is a very important section of the festival that we have been carrying out with the firm conviction that it is an important space for dialogue, support and reflection that contributes to completing the selected films,” said Stavenhagen. The projects that make up the program are: Chicas tristes, by Fernanda Tovar; Guerras invisibles, by Fernanda Arteaga; La gran familia, by Matías Meyer; Mickey, by Dano García; Nosotros, by Joaquín Ruano; and Sueños que migran, by Juan Javier Pérez. Daniela Michel expressed her gratitude to the program's participants and remembered one of the festival's great friends, José María Riba, who promoted this initiative since its creation. The international panel of experts is made up of Ava Cahen, artistic director of Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival; Cristian Calónico, general director of Churubusco Studios; Benjamín Domenech, producer and founder of Rei Pictures; Cédric Succivalli, film critic; and Alberto Valverde, programmer and coordinator of the ECAM Forum.
