Gallardo Filmmaker Iván Fund, a member of the jury for the Mexican Short Film section, presented his latest movie, The Message, at the 23rd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).The Message, winner of the Silver Bear (Jury Prize) at the 75th Berlinale, tells the story of a girl who, during an economic crisis, profits off a gift that lets her talk to animals. On a trip through the Argentine countryside, she and her father travel the road to a difficult reunion: visiting her mother, who is in a psychiatric hospital. Along the way, he must face his own silence and inability to connect with others.“It rained during the last three screenings of the film at different festivals. I suppose it's a nice reminder that cinema is still a shelter and will continue to be so for a long time to come,” said the filmmaker.
