After the premiere at the festival, the director of Niños héroes (2025) said that this documentary is an excuse to talk about Acapulco and a country; about the powerful force that the people and the port have to rise, one catastrophe after another.During the screening, the audience listened to an extensive and beautiful disco soundtrack; an element that Maillé said was one of the challenges that the film faced due to copyright issues.Regarding the creative process, he said he is “a specialist in what I don’t know,” adding that you have to let yourself be carried away by what you are doing, because in the end, “the documentary you film is the most powerful, not the one that is left behind, even though one feeds the other.”
