José Luis Isoard originario de Ciudad de México, es director y guionista
cinematográfico. Estudió Ciencia Política en el Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de
México (ITAM), formación que ha influido en el desarrollo de una obra interesada en
las dimensiones sociales y humanas de la realidad en México.

Su ópera prima, Padre Pablo (2021), recibió el apoyo del Gobierno del Estado de
Guanajuato para su producción. La película tuvo su estreno mundial en el Vancouver
International Film Festival en 2021 y llegó a las salas comerciales mexicanas en
2024.

Previamente dirigió diversos cortometrajes que fueron seleccionados en algunos de los
festivales cinematográficos más importantes de México y el extranjero, entre ellos el
Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, la Semaine de la Critique del Festival de
Cannes, el Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival y el Festival
Internacional de Cine de Monterrey. En el Festival Internacional de Cine de
Morelia obtuvo el Premio del Jurado por El cortometraje (2022).
