Estudió la licenciatura en Bellas Artes con especialidad en Cine y Televisión en Southern Methodist University (SMU), Texas. Obtuvo un reconocimiento por parte del Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) por la creación y producción del segmento televisivo El reporterito, durante los Juegos Olímpicos de Beijín 2008. Participó en el 11° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) con su cortometraje de ficción Hora cero (2013), que recorrió más de 20 festivales alrededor del mundo; entre ellos, el 4° Festival Internacional de Cine de Nueva York (NYCIFF por sus siglas en inglés); el 16° Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés); el 21° Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego (SDLFF por sus siglas en inglés); y el Short Film Corner del 66° Festival de Cannes. Obtuvo, por esta obra, el Premio Silver Aca Award en el 6° Festival de Cine de Las Vegas (LVFF por sus siglas en inglés) y el Premio del Público en el 10° Hollyshorts Film Festival (HSFF), Miami, entre otros.
