Su obra ha recorrido más de 20 festivales alrededor del mundo, entre ellos, tres ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Participó en el 7° FICM con su cortometraje de ficción Luces negras (2009); por el que obtuvo, entre otros reconocimientos, el premio a Mejor Cortometraje Mexicano en el 3er Festival Internacional de Cine de Cancún Riviera Maya. Su cortometraje de ficción Mari Pepa (2011) fue premiado como Mejor Producción Audiovisual en el 18° Festival Latinoamericano de Video y Artes Audiovisuales Rosario (FLVR), Argentina; y como Mejor Cortometraje de Ficción en el 9° FICM y en el 26° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG). Su ópera prima Somos Mari Pepa (2013) formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 11° FICM, del 23° Encuentro Cinelatino de Toulouse y del 54° Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI), Colombia, entre otros. Obtuvo por esta obra el Premio de la Prensa en el 16° Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés) y una Mención Honorífica en el 31° Festival Internacional de Cine de Miami (MIFF por sus siglas en inglés).
