Recorrió, con esta última, más de diez festivales alrededor del mundo y obtuvo, entre otros premios, Mejor Película en el 2° Festival Internacional de Cine Puebla (FIC Puebla); Mejor Director y Mejor Guión en el 39° Festival de Cine de Gramado, Brasil; Mejor Ópera Prima en el 16° Festival Internacional de Cine de Kerala (IFFK por sus siglas en inglés); y una Mención Especial del Jurado en el 58° Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián. Su segundo largometraje, Filosofía natural del amor (2013), ha participado, entre otros festivales, en el 2° Baja International Film Festival (BIFF), Los Cabos, México, y en el 3er Festival Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam Curaçao (Curaçao IFFR por sus siglas en inglés).
