Obtuvo el Premio al Mérito Juvenil, otorgado por el Ayuntamiento de Morelia, en 2010. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (Conacyt), México. Participó en el 9° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) y en el 9° Festival Internacional de Cine Pobre de Gibara, Cuba, con su documental Aquí en mi tierra: La memoria y la palabra (2011), en co-dirección con Lucio Pedro Estrada Cárdenas.
