De San Luis Potosí, 1982. Estudió Dirección cinematográfica en el Centre d'Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya. Su primer largometraje Semana Santa (2015) y su segundo largometraje Las Niñas Bien (2018) se estrenaron en el TIFF. El segundo fue nominado a 14 premios Ariel y visitó varios festivales alrededor del mundo. Ha escrito y dirigido para televisión durante más de una década, dirigió 2 episodios de la última temporada de NARCOS: MÉXICO. El norte sobre el vacío (2022) es su tercer largometraje.
