Estudió Cinematografía en el Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC), Ciudad de México. Participó en el 4° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) con su cortometraje de ficción Capillus (2005), por el que obtuvo una Mención Honorífica en el 21° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG). En 2012 fue seleccionado para participar en el Taller de Guión Alejandro Galindo con su guión Campeona sin corona, coescrito por Jorge Estrada. Participó en el Short Film Corner del 65° Festival de Cannes, Francia con su cortometraje de ficción Días inciertos (2012). Fue finalista en el 17° Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés) con su guión de largometraje El Observante, lo cual le otorgó el derecho a participar durante tres meses en la plataforma profesional para guionistas, The Black List. Entre 2012 y 2014, ha dirigido numerosos documentales para la cadena televisiva Canal Once TV, México, entre ellos, la serie Arquitectura del poder, así como los capítulos de Jorge Ibargüengoitia, Carlos Prieto y Teodoro González de León, entre otros, dentro de la serie Historias de vida. Fue director, en 2013, de la segunda unidad de la serie Crónica de Castas, dirigida por Daniel Giménez Cacho. Actualmente, es director de la casa productora JP&K Films, con la cual prepara el documental Una isla en el continente y el largometraje de ficción El Observante, ambos de su autoría.

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”

Ziuta travesías

Ziuta, a Polish Jewish survivor of World War II, was an extraordinary woman who sparked special devotion for her political commitment and her support for clandestine struggle. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. Despite the horrors and scarcity she endured, she upheld a grateful outlook on life.

Oskar Alegría embarks on a journey to recover the past. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
