Juan Paulín (Morelia, Michoacán) es realizador audiovisual, animador e ilustrador. Su
trabajo se ha desarrollado principalmente en el ámbito de la animación, disciplina que
complementa con la composición musical y el diseño sonoro. A lo largo de su
trayectoria ha participado en proyectos cinematográficos, publicitarios y televisivos en
México y Argentina.

En 2019 fue seleccionado para participar en Berlinale Talents Guadalajara, programa
de formación para cineastas emergentes vinculado al Festival Internacional de Cine
en Guadalajara y al Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín.

Desde 2003 ha desarrollado una filmografía integrada por los cortometrajes de
animación Entre días nublados (2003), Loby (2006), Dulce (2010), El recuerdo
(2012), Una idea (2017), Tiempo en el bosque (2018), Entre líneas (2022) y Not
Today (2024). Sus obras han sido exhibidas en diversos festivales nacionales e
internacionales, entre ellos el Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, Cinélatino,
Rencontres de Toulouse, el Festival de Cine de Madrid, el New York Latino Film
Festival, el Festival Iberoamericano de Cine de Miami, el Festival de Cine
Iberoamericano de Florencia, el Festival de Cine de Girona, CutOut Fest y Shorts
México.

Su cortometraje Entre líneas (2022) fue reconocido en el CineGlobe Film Festival,
celebrado en el CERN de Ginebra, Suiza, donde obtuvo los premios Idea Square Prize
for Innovation y Best Young Film. Posteriormente, Not Today (2024) recibió el premio a
Mejor Cortometraje de Animación en The Americas Latino Film Festival of New
York, consolidando la proyección internacional de su trabajo.
