Ganadora de un premio Emmy en 2024 y fundadora de Lakhesis Films. Directora de cine mexicana ganadora de premios internacionales, establecida en la Ciudad de Nueva York. Tiene una Licenciatura en Diseño y Comunicación Visual por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y una Maestría en Cine por el City College of New York (CUNY). En el año 2021, Lorena obtuvo la beca Bert Saperstein Communication por excelencia y en los años 2020 y 2021 fue ganadora del premio Dr. David Milch Foundation por sus cortometrajes Black Lives Matter y Preserving Nature. Fue nominada al 2021 BAFTA-NY Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust Award y recientemente ganó el 2022 National Board of Review Student Award por su cortometraje Cuanacaquilitl (2022), el cual es parte de la Selección Oficial del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Apasionada tanto por el cine documental como el narrativo, Lorena está particularmente interesada en contar historias acerca de la vida contemporánea de las mujeres en búsqueda de equidad y libertad.
