Michelle Garza Cervera es directora y guionista mexicana, egresada del Centro de
Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). En 2017 obtuvo la Beca Chevening, gracias a
la cual cursó la Maestría en Dirección Cinematográfica en Goldsmiths, University of
London. En 2023 fue seleccionada por el Sundance Institute para formar parte del
Momentum Fellowship, programa dirigido a impulsar la carrera de cineastas con
proyección internacional.

Su ópera prima, Huesera (2022), tuvo su estreno mundial en el Festival de Cine de
Tribeca, donde obtuvo los premios a Mejor Nueva Dirección Narrativa y Nora Ephron.
La película desarrolló un amplio recorrido internacional y obtuvo más de cuarenta
reconocimientos, entre los que destacan el Premio Citizen Kane a Dirección Revelación
en el Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya (Sitges) y el galardón
a Mejor Película de la sección Crazies en el Torino Film Festival. En la sexagésima
quinta edición de los Premios Ariel, la película fue distinguida con los premios a Mejor
Ópera Prima, Mejor Guion Original, Mejor Maquillaje y Mejores Efectos Especiales,
otorgados por la Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas.

Posteriormente inició el desarrollo de la adaptación cinematográfica de la novela
Ornamento, del escritor colombiano Juan Cárdenas, proyecto escrito en colaboración
con la guionista Alejandra Moffat. Asimismo, participó en la postproducción de una
nueva versión de La mano que mece la cuna, realizada para 20th Century Studios.
