Novelist Alex Fayard travels to Japan to promote his new book and falls deeply in love with a geisha. She confesses to him that she has received death threats from a former lover. Fayard offers his help, without imagining that this situation will bring him face to face with Shundei Oe, a film director who specializes in thrillers. This encounter will lead him to a dark world of mystery and viciousness, in the chase after a man hungry for vengeance.
