However, after a police raid, she is thrown into jail, along with some of the prostitutes. When she leaves prison, Naná becomes a prostitute herself. One of her clients helps her debut in the theater as a popular singer, where she gains great fame, many admirers and leads a lavish life, soon becoming obsessed with climbing the social ladder.
