The Arruza Years In 1960, the American filmmaker Budd Boetticher arrived in Mexico to direct Arruza, a semi-documentary feature film about the popular Mexican bullfighter Carlos Arruza. The production process, which took more than ten years, may be among the longest and most complicated in the history of cinema. Niños Héroes In 1976, the new facilities of the Military College, designed by architect Agustín Hernández Navarro, were inaugurated. The latter perhaps did not fully appreciate the congruence of his architectural proposal with the vital force of this space. Showing the daily lives of the cadets, the documentary becomes an X-ray not only of the Military College, but of Mexico as a whole. The documentary tells the truth, but presents it as fiction.
