Heart of Gold is inspired by the painting A Man Offering Gold and Coins to a Girl, by Godfried Schalcken, wich dates back to 1665-70. What at first appears to be a romantic encounter between a couple in love, turns out to be a deal made in a brothel, where two people with troubled pasts find a common ground to get what they want, at a price they are willing to pay.
