Hilda, a Mazahua language teacher, teaches children, youth, and adults in her community to speak and write in this Indigenous language, at a time when its use is gradually fading. Through each class, Hilda defends a way of living and remembering—her teaching is an act of resistance and love for a language that refuses to disappear. Her voice, her classroom, and her conviction uphold the collective memory of her people.
