Image Fernández, León He studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. He is a sculptor and animator, and founder of Humanimalia Studio, a company dedicated to the manufacture of puppets for stop-motion animation. He has participated in more than 30 festivals around the world with his short film Mutatio (2011), among them, the 9th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He won, for this work, the Rigo Mora Award at the 26th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG); A Special Jury Prize at the 33rd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, Havana, Cuba; and Best Animation at the 5th Crown Fastnet Short Film Festival, Ireland, among others. His short film Taller de corazones (2016) was part of the Official Selection of the 14th FICM, winning the best short animation. Los aeronautas (2016), won him the Ariel for Best Animated Short Film at the 59th Ariel Awards, in Mexico. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist! Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
