He participated in more than 20 festivals around the world with his animated short film Voodoo Bayou (2007), including the 5th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), the Short Film Corner of the 60th Cannes Film Festival and the 24th Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF). For this film, he won the Cinemex Prize at the 3rd Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM), the Second Best Animation award at the 3rdMonterrey International Film Festival (FICMonterrey, in Spanish), and the Best Animation award at the 2nd Animation and Videogames Creanimax, Guadalajara, among others.
