The premiere was attended by the director, as well as producer Félix de Valdivia; actresses Elsy Reyes and Mónica Dionne; and actors Alfonso Borbolla and Octavio Hinojosa. Mónica Dionne's work captivated audiences with its striking portrayal of an unconventional mother—a character that shatters the stereotype of Mexican motherhood.In Sobriedad me estás matando, Raffi, a nearly forty-year-old addict hooked on rehab centers is forced to confront his life when he gets kicked out of a clinic and has to move back in with his mother, with whom he has a terrible relationship. When she throws him out, Raffi seeks refuge with Trino, his last remaining friend, who pushes him to pursue his impossible high school crush, Inés.
